WEMUN –We The People Model United Nations is an international educational program that gathers thousands of high school and university students from across the globe to simulate the work of the UN within its Committees.

Each edition takes place in a city of global significance, in venues of institutional standing, with a program curated by experts in international relations and education. It is designed for students who want to understand how the world really works – and learn how to shape it.

WHY PARTICIPATE

What you build
in four days.

Every delegate leaves WEMUN with skills no classroom can teach the same way.

01 – Public Speaking

Learn to speak up when it matters most.

Defending a country’s position before an audience of one hundred international delegates is not an exercise. It is the real situation.

02 – Leadership

Lead a negotiation, don't just take part in one.

Build coalitions, mediate opposing positions and reach agreements under pressure. Leadership is what shows up in difficult moments.

03 – Network

Your international network starts here.

Today’s fellow delegates become tomorrow’s colleagues, partners and friends. Students from over 50 countries who share ambition and curiosity.

04 – Diplomacy

Understand how diplomacy actually works.

Engage with international law, multilateral decision-making and global power dynamics – not in theory, but through direct practice.

05 – University

An experience that speaks for itself in applications.

International universities recognise the value of experiences such as WEMUN: critical thinking, global perspective and personal initiative.

06 – Culture

A city as a classroom.
The world as a perspective.

Living New York during an international conference is unlike any school trip. You take home a different relationship with the world.

THE CITY

New York: the
destination is not
just a backdrop.

New York City is not simply where the conference takes place: it is home to the United Nations Headquarters, the actual framework simulated by WEMUN. Walking these streets, breathing the city’s rhythm, confronting its diversity gives every debate held in session a sharper meaning.

From Times Square to the East River, from Broadway to the Statue of Liberty, every corner of the city echoes the themes you debate inside the conference room.

The city of the United Nations

Just a few blocks from the conference stands the iconic Headquarters of the United Nations: the real place where the decisions you simulate are made every day.

The world's most multicultural city

The diversity you encounter outside the conference room mirrors exactly the one you find inside - making New York the perfect setting for global dialogue.

Times Square as base camp

The Marriott Marquis sits at the heart of Manhattan. Every free moment is part of the experience: the city is one subway ride away.

What you take home from New York.

Authentic diplomacy

Not a simulation of how it could work. An exact reproduction of how it actually does — UN procedures, real committees, decision making under pressure.

International special guests

The WEMUN 2026 keynote speaker was Whoopi Goldberg and each edition brings directly in front of the delegates voices they would normally only see on a screen.

A global network

High School and University studentsfrom over 50 countries. Today they’re the delegate next to you. Tomorrow they’re a contact on three continents.

Marriott Marquis, Times Square
