WHY PARTICIPATE
Every delegate leaves WEMUN with skills no classroom can teach the same way.
01 – Public Speaking
Defending a country’s position before an audience of one hundred international delegates is not an exercise. It is the real situation.
02 – Leadership
Build coalitions, mediate opposing positions and reach agreements under pressure. Leadership is what shows up in difficult moments.
03 – Network
Today’s fellow delegates become tomorrow’s colleagues, partners and friends. Students from over 50 countries who share ambition and curiosity.
04 – Diplomacy
Engage with international law, multilateral decision-making and global power dynamics – not in theory, but through direct practice.
05 – University
International universities recognise the value of experiences such as WEMUN: critical thinking, global perspective and personal initiative.
06 – Culture
Living New York during an international conference is unlike any school trip. You take home a different relationship with the world.
THE CITY
New York City is not simply where the conference takes place: it is home to the United Nations Headquarters, the actual framework simulated by WEMUN. Walking these streets, breathing the city’s rhythm, confronting its diversity gives every debate held in session a sharper meaning.
From Times Square to the East River, from Broadway to the Statue of Liberty, every corner of the city echoes the themes you debate inside the conference room.

Just a few blocks from the conference stands the iconic Headquarters of the United Nations: the real place where the decisions you simulate are made every day.

The diversity you encounter outside the conference room mirrors exactly the one you find inside - making New York the perfect setting for global dialogue.

The Marriott Marquis sits at the heart of Manhattan. Every free moment is part of the experience: the city is one subway ride away.
