The Venue

Arrival and Accreditation

Participants are encouraged to arrive at the Venue, in time for the Registration, the first day of the conference. WEMUN registration desk will open from 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM until.

Late accreditation is also available till 5:00 pm

Our team will guide you to the check in desk. You are requested by the hotel to show a photo ID and provide a valid credit card. The credit card will not be charged unless for personal incidentals.

We kindly ask you to please show up on time in order to avoid any possible delays.

General Behavior

Delegates are expected to behave respectfully during their presence at the program. Delegates or Advisors who cause any damage to the facilities are to be responsible for the damage caused. Please note that delegates and advisors are responsible for the safeguarding of their belongings and valuables. WEMUN is not to be held liable for any losses due to theft or negligence. Harassment of any form will also not be tolerated by the WEMUN Staff at the conference. This includes but is not limited to sexual, verbal or physical harassment.

Food and Beverage

No food or beverage is allowed inside any of the conference rooms. Delegates are responsible for their own meals.

Smoking Policy

At WEMUN smoking is NOT allowed under any circumstances. The Security Personnel reserve the right to expel any delegate who fails to abide by this policy.

Dress Code

The dress code for this conference is Western Formal. Males are required to wear a suit that consists of a formal shirt, tie, pants and suit jacket, which are to be paired off with formal shoes. Females are required to wear a formal blouse with formal pants or skirts (knee length or longer). Formal dresses of appropriate length are also acceptable.

Conduct Code

Disrespectful behaviors in committee should first be addressed by attendees directly with one another or through their faculty advisor or head delegate. Repeated instances of undiplomatic behavior may be called to the attention of conference organizers by faculty advisors or head delegates through our online reporting form.

Core Criteria for Delegation Awards​

  • Active Engagement and Participation
    Delegations are evaluated on their involvement in both formal sessions (speeches, motions) and informal caucuses (negotiations, drafting). Active participation is crucial for demonstrating commitment and influence.
  • Diplomatic Conduct and Professionalism
    Adherence to diplomatic decorum is essential. This includes respectful interactions, effective negotiation, and maintaining the integrity of the assigned country’s position. Undiplomatic behavior can negatively impact a delegation’s standing.
  • Quality of Position Papers
    Well-researched and clearly written position papers are often required. These documents should accurately reflect the assigned country’s policies and provide a foundation for effective participation in committee discussions.
  • Resolution Drafting and Collaboration
    Contributions to drafting resolutions and working papers are significant. Delegations should demonstrate the ability to collaborate with others, incorporate diverse viewpoints, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Adherence to Rules and Procedures
    Understanding and following the conference’s rules of procedure ensures smooth operations and reflects a delegation’s preparedness and respect for the MUN framework.
  • Team Cohesion and Support
    Effective internal communication and support among team members enhance overall performance. Delegations should work together to strategize, share information, and maintain a unified approach.

Common Delegation Award Categories

  • Best Delegation: Recognizes the delegation with the highest overall performance, considering both individual and collective contributions.
  • Outstanding Delegation: Awarded to a delegation that has demonstrated exceptional performance across various criteria.
  • Honorable Mention: Acknowledges a delegation that has shown commendable effort and results, though not at the highest level.
  • Best Large/Small Delegation: Distinguishes the top-performing large or small delegations, often based on the number of delegates and the average performance per delegate
